Self Evaluation
1. I provided the strength of Leadership during baseball games, hard work, ability and desire to learn new things/ tasks, and my positive attitude.
2. My major weakness was scheduling conflicts. I was unable to be available during the Saturdays because of my own track schedule and competing every Saturday. I could have improved by being more outgoing during the basketball and lacrosse games. I usually just sat back and observed for most of the games.
3. I feel as if I adequately satisfied the duties expected of me. I did what I was asked and I never complained about the tasks at hand. Ty only had to show me how to set up a few times and then they let me do it by myself with no supervision.
4. I feel as if some of the hours were less productive than the others. For instance the breaks in between games when I would just sit waiting are less productive than actually working the games. Other hours such as the writing bios, because I was given such a long deadline I was able to take my time and get more hours from that.
Otherwise I feel as if I earned about 90% of my 150 hours.
5. I would suggest always volunteering and trying different tasks or duties within the internship. Ty and Joe give you a lot of freedom and allow you to make the experience what you want of it so if you always try new things you will get a more wide variety of experience when you are finished.
6. I gain more understanding for the broadcasting and statistical side of sports. Before the internship I did not know what went on in the press box or the work that is done on the communications side of sports. I also a better understanding on how to talk and write sports for the radio TV. and web. When I leave Tiffin University this will help me to be a better writer, and also if I were to get a position in the baseball industry I would have an understanding on how to work the scoreboard, broadcast the games, run the cameras, or even take stats.
7. I feel as if I have earned an A. I have put in all of the work that was asked of me. I never once told my supervision no that’s not going to work for me (with the exception of my meet schedule) I would do everything I could to make it to the games and event. The only reason I feel as if I would earn a B is because of being late turning in my assignments. However I asked for an extension due to being short a few hours that I was able to make up before the end of the semester.
